About Me.

My approach to patient care involves a merging of the Traditional Chinese medical knowledge I've acquired and nurtured, my intuitive abilities, and my Buddhist/Daoist philosophy-based perspective and understanding of life. I value and encourage the development of what Chinese medicine refers to as Zheng Qi, or strong life-affirming upright qi, and what western medicine refers to as the immune system. We will seek to connect to your body's inherent ability to heal, while utilizing Chinese medical diagnosis to understand where basic imbalances reside in your body as we develop a set of nourishing tools for you to use in your day-to-day life.

My Services

ACUPUNCTURE

My Acupuncture Program forms the foundation of my in-person services, offered at my office on NE Fremont St. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Acupuncture is the most well-known modality within Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), though your treatment may include other modalities such as cupping, guasha, infrared heat, liquid moxibustion, electro-acupuncture, Tibetan singing bowl therapy, and/or topical liniments. Chinese medicine speaks in terms of nature and how our external world affects us, from the climate in which we live to the stresses in the workplace and society. Everything is connected, with nothing in Chinese medicine existing from its own right. It’s the theory of Yin and Yang.

CUPPING THERAPY

Cupping is a part of my in-person services, offered at my office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You may experience cupping as a part of your Acupuncture treatment or you may choose to come in just for cupping or guasha!

I primarily practice Taiwanese-style Cupping, but also offer traditional Chinese-style Fire Cupping. This modality works to bring cell-waste, or toxins, to the surface so that your body is better able to flush them out, creating improved health and reduced pain. By releasing the built-up lactic acid and carbon dioxide, allowing clean oxygen into the affected area, the body naturally begins to function more efficiently. The patterning that I use is specific to this style of cupping and is used on the back, hips, and shoulders. I use guasha to treat neck pain. Cupping can also be helpful in respiratory conditions.

HYPNOSIS

Hypnosis is offered remotely via my telehealth program. I am pleased to be able to offer this therapeutic modality regardless of location.

Though hypnosis is not considered a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is an ancient therapeutic modality with roots in Egypt and Greece. As a Certified Professional Hypnotist, I offer custom hypnosis sessions/packages from within the perspective/background of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The collaborative process of hypnosis gives you the opportunity to “sit back” into your subconscious mind in an effort to better understand the nature of your health and behavioral struggles, while discovering and practicing effective methods to move through them. As we seek to create positive conditions to close the mind-body gap, I will invite you to begin discovering naturally-occurring responses and improved self-esteem, confidence, and health.
